Reviewing Private Ryan

This is my first and only action project for my humanities course called Ollywood. In Ollywood we learned about the history of film and the process of producing them. We had 3 sections to this class, called Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production. In Pre-Production we learned about how to write a screenplay, location scouting, set and costume designing and a number of other jobs. In production we learned all about directing, cinematography, lighting and the the jobs of the actors. In Post-Production we learned about editing, soundtracks, and the creation of sound effects. Since this class was only 5 weeks long and we had so many topics to cover I had a hard time keeping up with all of the information that we were given. I eventually adjusted to the fast pace of this class and really enjoyed learning about the complex process of creating and reviewing a film once this happened. For this action project we were put into groups to review a film of our choice by looking at the Pr

Lebenia

This is my first action project for my humanities class called Stories. This unit we focused on creation myths, also known as Etiological myths. The purpose of this project is to create a myth, a world, or a society using what we have learned. I chose to create a planet called Lebenia and told the story through second person so the reader can get a tour of the planet through the perspective of a citizen. I really enjoyed this project because I could put my creativity to use and make a whole new world. I had a little trouble putting all of my ideas into a story format, and in the end there was a lot of things that I had to cut out of the story. I am particularly proud of the artwork I created because I got to visualize the geography and a creature so the reader could actual see what I saw when imagining it. “Hello, My name is Della Roth and I will be you tour guide as we traverse Lebenia! Leavening Agents 101

This is my second action project for my STEAM course called food. For this project we compared different types of leavening agents. The main problem I had with this project was using the assigned the directions to make the sourdough bread.

Pollution and How to End It

This is my third and final action project for my STEAM course Fuel. In this unit we focused on the causes and effects that pollution has on our environment. For this project we focused on the pollution that we create ourselves and the different ways that individuals can help combat the problem now facing us. In this unit I learned about some specific ways to cut down on your pollution other than just turning off your lights when you leave the room or using recycled materials. Something that I had trouble with for this project was finding specific data for the action steps, but I managed to find sites with numbers related to these actions and calculate the data that I needed.  Work Cited:  1) CO2 emissions for shipping of goods.
